August 2010 - What a Month it Was

SATURDAY the 21st
The Portland based Mt Hood Chapter Cadillac LaSalle car club's 11th Annual All Cadillac and LaSalle Car Show was held on the grounds of Hot Rod Pizza, 14585 SE McLoughlin Blvd. Milwaukie Oregon with AWARDS, Raffle Drawing, Live DJ, Food and Patio Dining. About 45  entered for judging and a few showed up for just having to go somewhere.  It was a great show. See ALLANTES at  http://www.mthoodclc.com/2010allcadshow.htm

And then beginning the 24th

  August 24 Driving tour of Vashon Island - a great day of low speed touring;
August 25 Mount Rainier Scenic Driving Tour 80 degrees and all the tops that could were down;

Thursday and Friday, the 26 & 27th, the big 2 day 500 mile loop tour  - Port Townsend then Highway 20 to overnight at Winthrop, then on to Wenatchee, Leavenworth for lunch and back to our banquet at the host hotel, the Emerald Queen, near Tacoma.   Up, down and around around and through.
No one won the hard luck trophy - not bad for 500 miles.

Saturday the 28th visiting the big annual LeMay Auto Museum and auction
Both the homestead and Marymount school sites were open.

 plus at the house, Mrs. LeMays doll collection will be open!!

(Mrs. LeMay's doll collection is marvelous but is only open one day per year.)

And on Sunday the 29th

  The Seattle based Pacific Northwest Chapter Cadillac LaSalle car club's All Cadillac and LaSalle Picnic was on the main street of Ruston Washington.  The town welcomed the club and by closing their main street for the PNWCLC Picnic. It is a quaint area with a tree lined street & vintage homes.  There was a few craft booths and music on the lawn.  Participation in having your car judged was optional.

FLASH  John Guest of Federal Way gave up on his red/charcoal '91 that suffers from rodents getting to the wiring and some issues with his fuel injectors.  No Hard Top.  I understand he just gave it away..

So Far This Year - Yankee Allantes Meet BC Allantes in Victoria

At the Vancouver Island Chapter of the Cadillac LaSalle Club's 7th annual show at Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse Provincial Park. One of the largest Cadillac car shows in Canada (plus one LaSalle); this year total appearances were in the high 70 count.   A 1914 made an appearance and many post War Cadillac cars of all types are there - customs, ambulances, hearses, vintage, classic, '40s, '50s, '60s, '70s, '80s, and newer models.  With excellent weather for the weekend assured by the organizing committee, convertibles were in good attendance.  The host committee did excellent work with plaques and a charity barbeque all to support a worthy cause.  Our Patty C won best in class with her '93!
